Peer pressure one of the underrated social issues nowadays. It is an issue that we want to address by raising an awareness through any kind of social media accounts because today's world is in a modern days where probably most of us has a device that can connect to the internet. 

What is peer pressure?

 Peer pressure is the direct or indirect influence on people of peers, members of social groups with similar interests, experience, or social status. Members of a peer group are more likely to influence a person's beliefs and behavior. A group or individual may be encouraged and want to follow their peers by changing their attitudesvalues or behaviors to conform to those of the influencing group or individual. For the individual affected by peer pressure, this can result in either a positive or negative effect, or both.



This project is created to raise an awareness about "PEER PRESSURE" because society nowadays had pressured many teenagers in the way that they can't see. This issue is so underrated not knowing that peer pressure contribute to suicidal teens problem. According to Bartlyby website Peers play a major role in social media and in our everyday lives. People believe that peer pressure leads to teen suicide because teens feel as if they are not accepted into any groups, and this makes any teen feel like no one likes them. This leads to depression and causes teen to self-harm or even worse take their life.

Positive and Negative Effects of Peer Pressure:

Some of the positive effect of peer include a sense of belonging and support, increased self-confidence, introduction to positive hobbies and interest and some of the negative of peer could lead them to try alcohol or drugs, skip school or engage in other poor behaviors that could put their health at risk.

Tips for parents to help their child to overcome Peer Pressure :

•Encourage honest communication and open talks.

•Teach your youngster to assert himself and to avoid engaging in risky or unsuitable activities.

•Know your child's pals and how they interact, especially when it comes to social media. Disseminate information about how to use the internet and social media safely.

•Build your child's self-esteem. •Ascertain if he or she is pleased with himself or herself.

•Have a plan in place to assist the youngster in escaping an unpleasant or dangerous circumstance.
